Do you like to present a daring, bold image to the world? For some that means donning ripped jeans. But if you are afraid of putting on such a radical outfit, but you are crazy about ripped denim, you can select less provocative variant. In general, your modesty is not a reason to miss out on a fashionable trend!
Have you heard that ripped jeans are out of fashion? Never. Even decades after they first appeared ripped jeans still have a place in any woman’s wardrobe!
You can look in the club, go to the store and even to work in the ripped jeans, if the dress code is a more casual one. But those jeans are only moderately ripped. Ripped jeans go well with ballerina flats, boots, chunky sneakers and even with spiked heels.
On the upper part of your body you can wear a top on the thin straps, a top with a high neckline , a light, airy summer shirt made of cotton or linen, a formal jacket, in fact anything you like.
The effect of shabbiness may be toned down if it is concentrated on the knees, hips or a bottom of the trousers. These jeans you will probably not be ashamed to wear even to a family dinner. But if you want bolder effect, look for big cuts, notable holes and patches.
Make Your Own Ripped Jeans
- a pair of denim jeans that has a style and silhouette you like;
- a sharp craft knife ;
- a narrow cutting board, small enough to be placed inside the jean leg.
A cutting board can be replaced by a thick cardboard or a piece of wood. Put it inside the trouser, right in the place where you will make cuts. This way you will protect the back of the pants from the unnecessary damage.
Make as many cross-cuts with a knife as you need. But be careful: do not cut the trouser in half! The remnants of dangling denim threads you can try to trim off with the knife as it is shown in the picture.
At the end of the work you can shake jeans in order to loosen all thew remaining small strings or wash them in the washing machine. Just put the pair of jeans in a cloth bag, which must be tied tightly. The fact is that the washing machine can permanently spoil the newly ripped jeans and, moreover, become clogged with small threads. Putting the jeans into the washing bag you will save both your clothing and the machine.
