Originally it was a cocktail or evening dress. But soon they started to wear a little black dress to work. The ladies quickly realized how unique a little black dress is. The thing is that it doesn’t have any image until it appears on a slim female body.  “Hue” together gives makeup, shape, shoes, and accessories.

The spice to the outfit is given by make up, body, shoes and accessories.

What you should wear with little black dress?

A little black dress doesn’t really suit to any girl. You should be careful if your body is way far form the body of a model:

  • The length of dresses to the knee in a favorable light will show how slim your legs are. This dress will only suit to the girls of small height if they have a proportional figure.
  • Of course, tight sleeves will make you slim, but only to a certain period.
  • Three-quarter sleeves are another detail which is worth to be considered: do they fit you?
  •  Does this color look good on you? Is your skin tone smooth enough? Does the dress make you pale?

Accessories for this dress depend on the purpose of the outing. If you are going to some celebration, you can wear relevant sandals, shiny shoes or a clutch. Make sure that these items (at least one of them) were not black. Probably the fact that they should all harmonize with each other is not worth mentioning. Think also about the rhinestones in your hair: this is the case, when shining hair does not look vulgar.

If you wear a dress on weekdays, you can revive it with bracelets, pendant ornament, jacket or a scarf.

What was the beginning of little black dress?

In1926, agenius Coco Chanel had created a new outfit that didn’t look like any other outfit, to honor the memory of her deceased beloved. It was a dress with strict lines, form-fitting the silhouette of a figure, with no additional decorations such as buttons, frivolous frills or popular at that time fringe.

The estimation of Coco Chanel was delightfully simple: this dress was affordable for any lady, even with the lowest income. But thanks to the different accessories and different combinations, the lady looked differently each day. With silver necklace and high hair, she could go to a dinner. With a thin chain and closed shoes she could go to work. By the way, a logical continuation of a little black dress was a black pencil skirt, which is no less stylish and feminine.

The most famous black dress in the history of fashion was the dress that Audrey Hepburn wore in the “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” movie.  Now, of course, there are hundreds and thousands of different options for this dress. Designers manipulate collars, long skirts, add decorative elements … but what the product of the sewing arts would be, the idea is always the same, the one that was introduced to the world by Coco Chanel.

Don’t deny yourself the pleasure to be elegant! Let this unique dress be in your wardrobe.
